Simon Allen
Sculptor

Meet Simon Allen, a British artist known for his captivating gilded wall sculptures that blur the boundaries between art and light. Based on the edge of the Cornish moorlands, Simon’s work is deeply inspired by nature its rhythms, patterns, and ever-shifting light. Each piece is an interplay of texture, reflection, and shadow, hand-carved from wood and adorned with precious metals like silver and gold leaf.

Simon began his journey in Fine Art at Falmouth School of Art, later training in traditional gilding techniques in London before returning to Cornwall in 1994 to establish his studio practice. Over the years, he has developed a signature style that merges craftsmanship with contemporary minimalism, creating works that feel both timeless and elemental.
