Obaid BuHameed is a Riyadh-based Saudi visual artist whose work bridges tradition and contemporary expression. His intricate drawings layer heritage, architecture, and cultural memory with a modern sensibility, often incorporating motifs that echo Najdi embroidery and patterns. With a style that balances fine detail and bold composition, Obaid creates artworks that feel both rooted in history and alive in the present.
His practice spans exhibitions, art shows, and cultural production projects across the GCC, where he continues to experiment with visual storytelling. The Luxury Collection, Bab Samhan, Riyadh, KSA
Obaid produced a series of lobby artworks printed on toned paper, where hand-drawn scenes are delicately intertwined with embroidery-inspired patterns. At Bab Samhan, Diriyah, these works were framed in brass with maroon suede, celebrating Saudi heritage while enhancing the lobby space with depth and authenticity.
