Commissioned work with Capsule Arts

Large-scale feature artwork for Mövenpick Hotel, Al Marjan Island, Ras Al Khaimah

Lama was commissioned by Capsule Arts to create artwork for Mövenpick’s main lobby. This large line drawing is displayed as a mural overlaid with a series of framed hand-painted artworks, representing the viewer looking through remnants of windows found in the old houses.

The complete artwork references RAK’s unique tangible and intangible elements, including landscapes of the Jais and Hajar mountains, scattered bushes, an Oryx herd, Jazira Al Hamra, the calmness of the red desert, the coral architecture and elements of falconry. In the foreground, a more detailed view of desert plants and goats eating under the generous shade of the Ghaf Tree is portrayed.
